Paté Island
This beautiful island is north-east of Lamu and
has several interesting historical sites, from 13th century, including
Paté town and Siyu. At Siyu you find a well-preserved Fort and
Paté Island was once a powerful Swahili state. The populations
at the island are fishermen and mangrove-pole cutters. This trip can
with pleasure be extended with camping. We will stay overnight on the
beach of Manda Toto and explore the magnificent coral reefs.
